Penn Fraser Jillette and Raymond Joseph Teller, better known by their stage name Penn and Teller, are American magicians and entertainers. They have performed together since the late 1970s and are commonly known for their acts that combine elements of comedy with magic. They have been featured on many television shows including Penn and Teller: fool us and currently perform in Las Vegas at The Rio. They are also the longest running headliners to play at the same hotel in Las Vegas history!

In their performances Penn acts at the orator and raconteur. Whereas Teller is renowned for not speaking during their performances and instead communicates through mime and nonverbals. However, his voice can sometimes be heard during live shows and television appearances. As well as magic, the pair have gotten into the advocacy of scientific scepticism and libertarianism, especially through their television show Penn and Teller: Bullsh*t.

The duo have a huge respect for each other as business partners. However, have little similarities outside of their work. Because of this they very rarely socialize or interact when they are not working. With that said, Penn has said in a video where he and Teller were responding to questions asked to them through Reddit that whilst they don’t share many interests., Teller is his best friend, and his kids treat Penn as a close relative. He also said that having a partnership where it is built purely on respect for each other, rather than having a friendship before has been great for them. With the likes of other magician duos such as Martin and Lewis where their deep affection for each other beforehand later turned into volatility when things went wrong.

On April 5th, 2013, Penn and Teller were honoured with the 2,494th star on the Hollywood walk of fame for their achievement in the category of Live Performance. Their star is only a few steps down from the legendary Harry Houdini.

The duo have also received the Writers Guild of America award for their Penn and Teller: Bullsh*t. As well as being nominated for 11 Emmys Awards, wining one in 1995, for Pen and Teller Go Public.
